Best Training Treats for Dogs
Training your dog whether it's teaching basic commands, correcting behavior, or just reinforcing good manners requires two things: consistency and great motivation. And nothing motivates a dog more than a delicious treat!
In this post, we’ll give you our Nelly’s recommendation for treats ideal for dog training.

What makes a great training treat?
Small & soft: soft, bite-sized pieces prevent overfeeding and are quick to eat, keeping your dog focused.
Smelly & tasty: The more irresistible the smell, the more motivated your dog will be. Think meaty, cheesy, or fishy!
Low calorie: Frequent rewards shouldn’t mean weight gain. Look for treats with 3 calories or less per piece.
Healthy ingredients: Avoid treats with artificial flavours, dyes, or fillers. Look for high protein treats

A whistle is highly recommended for teaching recall for off-the-lead walks. Use a treat as a reward for returning on the sound of the whistle.
The clicker is also a very useful aid for training'; encourage the desired behaviour, use the clicker, then follow with a treat.
